As we bring the 2009-2010 school year to an end, I would like to thank our School Community, Board of Trustees, Staff and our PTO Members for all of their hard work, dedication, and steadfast efforts in support of Nova Academy. The closing of another successful year is the time to reflect on all that we have accomplished and our plans for the future. We have accomplished so much this academic school year. Nova Academy has successfully planned a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of our new state of the art facility, Nova Academy Prichard. Nova Academy Prichard will be a massive 82,000 sq. ft., 5M dollar educational facility that will include 50 classrooms, a state of the art computer lab, science lab, music room, library, performing arts theater room, and many more educational activities to prepare our students for academic excellence in the 21st century. We have also successfully completed our new 5 years Campus Strategic Plan and we look forward to a rewarding, outstanding, and academically advanced future. Nova Bruton and Nova Scyene were both Rated by TEA as a Recognized Campus for the 2009 school year. Nova Academy successfully received a “BBB” investment-grade Bond Rating from Standard & Poor’s Rating Service. This rating reflects Nova Academy’s sound administrative management, sound financial management, and stable student enrollment trends. Nova Academy successfully served 160 students in our Saturday Intervention Tutorial Program; which prepares the students for greater accomplishment on state, district, and classroom exams. Enhancing and advancing our students cognitive capacities is our focus of concern as we look towards an exceptional and fulfilling future. It is with great pride I share these accomplishments with you and encourage each of you to become involved in our school next year. We are open to all creative, innovative, and educational ideas that will foster our students overall. Your ideas and expertise are welcomed, considered, and valued. I wish our 6th grade students, Class of 2010, well. They have bright futures ahead of them, and I appreciate the unforgettable years that they have given Nova Academy. It is important to remember as educators and mind shapers, that a mind once stretched can never regain its original dimension. Therefore, “Thank You” Nova Academy family for molding and stretching our students’ minds and instilling in them motivation, encouragement, and hope for the future. I appreciate your valued support in all Nova Academy’s academic endeavors. Thank you for supporting me in, “Building Walls...Building Bricks...one student, one teacher, and one parent at a time.” Sincerely, Ms. Donna H. Woods, CEO
